Friends, fans, and fiends;
I feel the time has come to impart more of my vast knowledge to you all about how our humans should be treating us. We are kings! And queens...and some of us even jesters. But, to each their own!
I have recently approved funding for the Research and Development team to create a new branch of their department devoted to the proper feeding of our kitties-in-arms. This new program shall be known as the Meow March Meals Mission - or Mmmm for short.
I am now pleased to provide to you, the first round of information which Mmmm has gathered:
Dry Kitten Food: This stuff is delicious! From what I've heard, it's like human fast food, or tv dinners. While this food is very tasty, the nutritional value of the food varies from brand to brand.
Specialty Dry Kitten Food: While healthier for you, and providing more of the vitamins and minerals a cat needs to grow strong enough to throw off the bonds of his/her oppressors, it tastes like vegetables - yuck! I do not approve, give me junk food any day!
Organic Dry Kitten Food: This is the best option from both worlds: Taste and Nutritional Value. It tastes great cause it's made of all those real foods, like chicken, and tuna, rice, and beef. None of those artificial flavors. And it's healthier for you for those same reasons, our bodies can take in more nutrients from natural foods than they can from artificial vitamins and minerals.
The trick to teach our humans is this: Organic and Green are not the same things. Organic food is great, but Green Organic food is amazing. The difference is this:
Organic food is made from all natural ingredients. Things like chicken, beef, salmon, rice, etc.
Green means that it is also safe for the environment because of the way that it is manufactured. That means there was no Animal Testing. And, it's produced without the use of petroleum-based pesticides and fertilizers, and uses meat from animals that were raised without antibiotics or growth hormones which can pollute waterways.
Do any of you cats and kitties out there in the inter-nets eat some of this organic stuff? If so, how is it? My humans' wills are weakening, they are succumbing to my mind-powers and are considering buying it. I do not wish them to get rid of my current favorite before I know if I will like the new food. I need all the input I can get!

After the recall there was a lot of changing of our foods. Our current favorites are Katz-n-Flocken and Wellness. Mommy does not like to give us food with by-products, wheat, wheat gluten, corn, or soy in it. She has noticed that we are not hungry all the time the way Vincent Who Came Before was and weigh considerably less. He ate junky food because Mommy did not know any better.
We started going to a holistic vet when we got Harley. He spent a long time talking to us about nutrition, and also that canned food is much better than dry foods. We started eating EVO canned foods in the morning and evening, and a little bit of dry Wellness CORE at night to snack on. But with Harley's allergy problems, we are also having to experiment a little with our foods.
Riley and co. Your human female is wise in the ways of the world. My humans are learning. I shall train them yet.
Daisy,
A holistic vet? Where do you find such a creature and are they less vile then traditional vets? Or, at the very least, do they taste better when you bite them for putting things in your no-no places?
Yours in Human Training

Great advice Jerusalem!! We use the Green Holistic food and wet food, too!
Your FL furiends,
Here in Thailand we are so thankful that our mama and grandma were able to find food made in the USA.... cuz our national friends that we see outside walking past our yard, well they eat waht they can find and are sooooo little but we are healthy and BIG kitties. IF we ever fly back to the USA, we will check out the green organic, it sounds interesting, but for now we are soooooooo thankful for Science Diet! sawadii-ka
Samantha and Mr. Tigger,
I do hear good things of the green foods. And of course, what cat doesn't enjoy the sweet, tastey joy that is: wet food? Because, whoever they are, they probably aren't really a cat. I shall have to place them under questioning by the Mmmm.
We just bought a variety of organic foods to see what kind the cats liked. We didn't really like all the by-products in the food. One thing our cats can't give up is dry fancy feast. We had quite a dandruff problem so we are on Spa Select for sensitive skin. The cats love it and it has helped with the dandruff tremendously. Sometimes you can get smaller sample bags of items if you are picky like us. Mom said she spent a lot of money on food to find one that we would eat.

I recently started eating something called "Life's Abundance" and I like it a lot. Mom had originally bought it for Jake. It's a dry food and I only like crunchies. I'm going to be 18 this year and I'm not about to change now.

You were so kind to leave a comforting comment upon my beloved Jake’s passing last month. The cat blogosphere is a wonderfully caring community, and I am honored to be a part of it. Thank you for your support during this difficult time for me. Jake’s memory will forever live in my heart and mind.
